Her last outfit had a belt strapped so tightly around her chest -- what was that all about --doesn't she like to breath and the white bow is so huge -- it's totally out of balance. There is no beauty in that outfit. Maybe, everyone likes Michele Obama but this idea that she is a fashion icon is ridiculous. and without merit. Just because she wears outlandish silly prints does not make her wardrobe stunning.

NARNIA A MUST SEE MOVIE

Wear a sensible heel and the fash pack will, literally, look down on you. I narrowly avoided shoe shade when I picked up a pair of YSL Tribute sandals at the more commercial heel height of 11cm, as opposed to the 16cm catwalk version. “Claudia, you’re not going to wear them, are you? Those are selling heels,” said my designer-clad friend, not bothering to hide her disgust. For all you fashion civilians, a “selling” heel is a toned-down (lower) version of what appears on the catwalk."

Cyrus and Alexandra marrying is a little predictable but the two are such fine actors that they make it very interesting. Can't wait to see what happens next.

HARRY POTTER ON THE LOOSE

There are many leaks on the internet. The publishers are taking legal action.

"A printing plant worker in Britain was sentenced to 180 hours' community service after attempting to sell three chapters of Potter book five to a tabloid in 2003.
Two years later, a handful of copies of book six were sold early in Canada, prompting the distributor there to apply for a court injunction barring buyers from disclosing the plot."

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

We caught Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at a late afternoon matinee. The good news was that the theater was mostly empty.

(warning - some possible spoilers below)

The movie followed the book to a large extent. There were a few minor plot variations necessary to cover the story in the timeframe of a movie. I have to agree with those who said that it is important to have read the book and it's predecessors or at least seen the earlier movies. Without that knowledge base, there are a lot of things that would not make much sense or seem shallow.

One example of the differences between the book and movie is that the movie does not show the subtle hints that Petunia Dursley might have a lot more knowledge of the Wizard world than she lets on.

Another example is that Tonks has a relatively minor part and the hints of the relationship between her and Remus Lupin.

The special effects are astounding in that they often don't seem like special effects at all. The fly-bys of the castle are spectacular.

With the addition of a large number of characters, the individual supporting actors are getting smaller and smaller parts. Even Mad-eye Moody only has a couple of scenes.

The film is probably the most serious of the series. There are very few light moments. A lot of the focus is on the inner conflicts of Harry. As, with the book, Dumbledore intentionally ignores Harry throughout most of the movie (There is a reason for this, of course). Harry's brief encounter with Cho is dampened bu the previous relationship with her and Cedric.

All in all, it was an enjoyable movie, one that we will purchase when it comes out in DVD to add to our collection.

I'd also have to say that JK Rowlings is a genius as a writer. The images that I envisioned when I read the book were pretty well matched by what I saw in the movie. She seems to be able to write about complex scenes and events in a way that many people see the same images in their minds.

By the way, Kreatcher had a relatively small part, but he is One Ugly Critter.

DEPP MAY DO PIRATES 4

He laughs. 'I'll keep the costume and just prance around the house, entertain the kids.' Or the rest of the world. 'Maybe 'Pirates 4, 5 and 6',' he says. 'If they had a good script, why not? I mean, at a certain point, the madness must stop, but for the moment, I can't say that he's done.' "

CYRUS SIZZLES !

The Guiding Light has some new sizzle thanks to the new actor Cyrus. He is a very gifted actor.

CBS Daytime Guiding Light: "MURRAY BARTLETT: Originally I was feeling a little restless, I wanted to come here and do some acting classes and brush up my skills and get inspired. I also really wanted to live out of Australia; I think it’s important to live away from where you grew up. When I got here, I really fell in love with New York. But I have had a journey dealing with visas and such. I continue to work in Australia and I like juggling both. "
